History of the Merredin CRC
The Merredin community was fortunate to be the 4th Telecentre set up in Western Australia on 31st March 1995. The Telecentre was located in the CY O’Connor College of TAFE premises and was under the auspice of the Doorways Committee.
In 2002, the Merredin Telecentre was collated with Wheatbelt Development Commission (WDC) and in a Shire facility that had been refurbished with funding sourced by the WDC and Telecentre. The arrangement was that both bodies were rent free for a period of 5 years. In 2007, the Telecentre (now Community Resource Centre) took the opportunity to relocate to the newly constructed Merredin Regional Community & Leisure Centre.
Current
The Resource Centre has outgrown the room at the MRC&LC. We have recently rellocated to the building formally know as the Women's Rest Centre. We are located at the eastern end of Barrack st.
