Merredin Markets
The Merredin streets had a festive flavour on Sunday 11 December with the 2011 Christmas Market. The Merredin Markets have not been held for some time until the Merredin Community Resource Centre instigated the recent event.
Market coordinator Sheridan Carlson said the markets were very well supported.
“The markets were aimed at increasing the community spirit at Christmas time and encourage members of the community to shop locally. It is important to support local business at this time of year and this event has been a great way to do that.”
The markets were very well attended with a total of __ stalls. Stalls attended from Narembeen, Ardath, Nungarin and many local stalls. All displaying a range of items that met the buyers needs.
Miss Carlson said, “Its great to see the Merredin community supporting events such as these. We hope that everyone enjoyed their day, and picked up a few bargains before Christmas.”
The Merredin Community Resource Centre has used this event as a trail for future events. “We are looking into having markets again in the future, and hope to receive the same amount, if not more support in the future.”
If anyone has any feedback or recommendations regarding the markets, please contact Sheridan at the Merredin Community Resource Centre on 9041 1041.
