Opening

The official opening and re-branding of the Merredin Community Resource Centre was held on the 30th of September, 2011. With the likes of Hon. Brendon Grylls MLA, Minister for Regional Development and Lands, Debbie Rice, Director Community Development, Department of Regional Development and Lands and Anna Painter, Acting Regional Coordinator attending the event, it finished up being quite a successful evening.

Jessica Anson, the MCRC coordinator, was the MC for the night, introducing Marika Hayden to present Welcome to Country and acknowledging the traditional owners of the land - Njaki-Njaki - Nyoongar People. Then introducing the Chair of the MCRC - Lisa Fischer to give a brief history of the CRC, where it stands now and what the future will bring. Then introduced Hon. Brendon Grylls to say a few words.

The evening turned out to be a great success and an eye opener to the community about what their local CRC has to offer.

A quick thank you to the Caterer for the event - Kath Brown

Also thanks to Judy Jeffreys and Donna Crook with help in preparing the food.

And last but not least, thank you to Trevor Elliott, a CRC committee member, who helped with the gardening, cleaning, and 'handy man' work around the building prior to this event.
